Man Attempts to Take Cop’s Gun at Trump Rally

How can somebody get a gun into a Trump rally? Just take one from a cop! Or, at least, try to disarm a cop, and then get stomped by him and all of his cop buddies before they hand you off to the Secret Service for federal charges. That’s pretty much what happened with a young man named Michael Sandford on Saturday.
Las Vegas Review-Journal reports:
Michael Sandford, 19, approached a uniformed Metro officer at the TI rally, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, police said. “Sandford began a conversation with the officer under the pretense that he was seeking an autograph,” Metro said. Sandford then tried to disarm the officer, the department said.
“The officers assigned to the event were able to quickly take Sandford into custody with little further disruption at the venue,” Metro said.
“Custody of Sandford has since been handed over to the United States Secret Service, where he will face formal charges.”
What a dunderhead! Presumably, Sandford was trying to get the gun to make a run at Trump, but his motives weren’t reported. Generally, there’s only one reason that you would ever disarm a cop, and that’s because you intend on shooting somebody. Mr. Sandford is lucky that he’s incompetent, or he’d likely be dead.
